Anniversary Date

A couple weeks ago, Alex and I celebrated our 4 year anniversary. And let me tell you, it was a wild one! We have never been the type to do the expensive dinner to celebrate anniversaries because 1. we are college students/recent grads who have very little extra money and 2. we lived in Troy. For those of you who don't know, the most exciting thing in Troy is Wal-Mart. And even that is lacking right now as it is recovering from a tornado back in August. So throughout the years, we have gotten creative with our anniversaries. We have been to pumpkin patches, botanical gardens (which is also where he proposed) and planetariums in the past, so this year, we went to the Zoo.

Got you, you thought a wild anniversary date was going to be something extreme or provocative, didn't you? Nope, we went to the zoo and hung out with the wild animals! The reason we picked the Montgomery Zoo this year was because my Sigma Alpha Iota little sisters adopted a flamingo for me for graduation!! (Aren't they awesome? The flamingos and my littles) I have a slight obsession with flamingos and my littles are only enablers. But I digress.
So we had planned for this year to go up to the zoo and see a movie and it was a blast. The zoo isn't just for little kids, because it brings out the kid in everyone. It is a time to be awe-struck by the beauty of these magnificent animals and the complexity of nature.

One of my favorite traditions that we started a few years ago was to take a picture of us holding a picture from past anniversaries. It was really cool to look at the photo and see how you change in all of the pictures. I am planning on having all of the pictures on display at the wedding somewhere because that will be fun to see it all compared as to how we have changed from our first anniversary to the wedding.
